La provincia de Talara es la zona más prolifera y antigua de obtención de petróleo en el Perú, en los últimos ciento cincuenta años se han encontrado  más de seis centros petrolíferos. De todos los distritos del área, solo en el  pequeño pueblo de Órganos ha albergado cuatro empresas petroleras  formales.

La serie fotográfica Al lado del petróleo consta de dos partes. La primera, Lado A , muestra los espacios abandonados por las diferentes compañías petroleras. Galpones, viviendas y oficinas, el registro distante del espacio  abúlico busca crear una analogía del comportamiento depredador que el ser humano tiene en relación al medio ambiente. Los espacios fotografiados en el Lado A, buscan ser un reflejo de una conducta actual en la que se utiliza y luego se desecha. La segunda, Lado B, es la consecuencia directa sobre los habitantes de Órganos. A raíz de la invasión y falta de utilización de estas estructuras desérticas, los pobladores, en su mayoría dedicados a la pesca, se ven recluidos dentro de  su propio espacio natal. Teniendo que adaptar sus viviendas y lugares de  trabajo a espacios que no sobrepasan los 10 m².

En conjunto la propuesta fotográfica busca confrontar nuestro comportamiento destructivo sobre el terreno, el cual marca una huella sobre el paisaje.

The province of Talara is the oldest and most prolific area for obtaining oil in Peru; in the last one hundred and fifty years more than six oil centers have been found. Of all the districts in the area, the small town of Órganos alone has hosted four formal oil companies.

The photographic series, Next to Oil, consists of two parts. The first, Side A, shows the spaces abandoned by the different oil companies. Sheds, houses and offices, the distant registry of the abúlico space seeks to create an analogy of the predatory behavior that man has in relation to the environment. The spaces photographed on Side A seek to be a reflection of current behavior in which we use and we discarded. The second, Side B, is the direct consequence on the inhabitants of Organos. Due to the invasion and lack of use of these desert structures, the settlers, mostly dedicated to fishing, find themselves confined within their own homeland. Having to adapt their homes and workplaces to spaces that do not exceed 10 m2.

As a whole, the photographic proposal seeks to confront our destructive behavior on the ground, which marks a mark on the landscape.
