«I don’t need a space to create a landscape.»
Through expanded photography and installation, my artistic practice engages with history and nature, from which I conceive landscape as the relationship between the body and spacetime. Influenced by the sense of non-belonging inherited from displacement and the mobility of my lineage, in my desire to belong, I turn the camera into an extension of my senses, of my gaze, that seeks a territory and, at the same time, questions this concept.
I began by photographing surfaces and now explore them as matter, code, and trace, in a «de/re/construction» where the layers of representation inscribed in the visible are reactivated. This transition leads me to rethink the photographic apparatus, emerging in the context of industrialization and inscribed within modernity, as a political technology of capture, fixation, and production. I inhabit the question: How can one create without exhausting (myself), neither the body nor the land? I work from the tension between creating and consuming, between being part of the problem and the solution, but that contradiction is my systole.
My interest lies in the image, in the imaginary, in projection and thought. I create from its conception, from the light of the universe that touches the photosensitive surface, and also from archives as devices of memory. I am interested in proposing art as a means to speculate and explore diverse ways of relating to knowledge.
