En Silencio [In Silence] uses the visual construction of typologies to highlight the repetition of a pattern in abandoned buildings in Metropolitan Lima.
The reiteration lies in blocking the main access to the property with noble materials and high-resistance components. This action isolates the building from its contents and context and, in also, nullifies the usefulness of the architectural object.
The sealed walls, doors, and windows materialize a human contradiction, in which what we build to satisfy essential needs of housing or public use is later annulled through a new effort aimed at blocking it.
